'Tulsa King' Star's Forgotten Action Thriller Roars Back Onto Free Streaming
Production on Tulsa King season four is set to begin any day after an explosive third season that proved a streaming success. The Taylor Sheridan crime saga stars Sylvester Stallone and Frank Grillo, and a Samuel L. Jackson-led spin-off is also in the works. Recently, Flula Borg joined the cast as tech billionaire Bradley Van Heusen.
As interest grows in the series, Grillo's seven-year-old action thriller Black and Blue has found a new audience on free streaming. The 2019 film, which co-stars Naomie Harris and Tyrese Gibson, follows a rookie New Orleans policewoman who inadvertently records the shooting death of a young drug dealer on her body cam, then discovers the murderers are corrupt cops and goes on the run with the only person in the community willing to help.
Black and Blue grossed $22.7 million against a $12 million budget but opened domestically to just $8 million despite playing in over 2,000 theaters, a performance at the time blamed on audience fatigue with the action-thriller genre.
