Steam saw more than 19,000 new games last year, so overlaps are almost inevitable. Two indie releases proved the point: 'Piece by Piece' from Neon Polygons, a puzzle platformer with 100 levels, arrived on March 13, while 'Piece by Piece' from Gamkat, a cosy repair shop sim, launched on March 11.

The coincidence was picked up in a Reddit post and prompted some concern that one developer might suffer for it. Neon Polygons praised No More Robots & Gamkat as having "been absolute class to work with" and said they were "honored to share the same name/launch week." Gamkat's developer said both teams had somehow announced the same release week, shared a laugh, and then created a Steam bundle together.

They questioned who would be "mislead" and said everyone on their side was happy and having fun with the situation. Both games launched without a hitch and are offered together in a discounted double bundle.
