Two Steam games with the same name avoid disaster by 'acting like human beings'
Discoverability on Steam is a constant challenge, and the platform's crowded release schedule can make standing out difficult. Two games called Piece by Piece landed on the storefront days apart, but the developers turned the coincidence into something constructive rather than a public relations mess.
Gamkat's Piece by Piece is a cozy management sim in which you play as an adorable orange fox running a repair shop. Neon Polygons' Piece by Piece, released two days later, is a puzzle platformer whose levels are divided into puzzle pieces you connect, move, and rotate to progress.
A Reddit post raised concern that the identical names could mislead players: "I feel this is going to mislead a lot of people," it said.
