Kotaku reports that Ubisoft announced on Thursday a company-wide reset that will bring a new creative structure, “rightsizing of the organization,” and further cuts, delays and cancellations to its game slate. The publisher said it will reorganize into themed “Creative Houses”—one (Vantage Studios) owning Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six Siege; another for The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell; a third for For Honor, The Crew, Riders Republic, Brawlhalla and Skull & Bones; a fourth for Anno, Might & Magic, Rayman, Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil; and a fifth for mobile and casual brands including Just Dance, Idle Miner Tycoon, Ketchapp and Hasbro-branded games.

Ubisoft said the shift aims for faster, decentralized decision-making and more investment in open-world, games-as-a-service and “player-facing Generative AI.” The company cited recent studio closures and layoffs and said the ongoing cost reduction of $117 million will be followed by an additional $234 million of cuts over the next two years.

“We will also selectively close several studios and continue restructurings throughout the Group,” CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed.
