IGN, GamesIndustry.biz and VGC each report that Ubisoft has ended game development at Red Storm Entertainment, resulting in the layoff of more than 105 developers.

Red Storm will shift from creating games to operating as a support studio, providing IT services and development support for Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine.

Snowdrop has powered many of Ubisoft's games since debuting in 2016 with The Division.

The studio had been approaching its 30th anniversary later this year, a milestone now overshadowed by the permanent downsizing.
