Udinese v Juventus: Udine crowd target Spalletti with abusive chant
This Saturday evening the Serie A match between Udinese and Juventus was underway at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine as part of the 29th round. The opening minutes were tight, with both sides probing and prioritising tactical build-up.
From the first whistle the Friuli supporters turned on Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, directing a chant that could not be repeated. The fans were heard singing: "Spalletti, you piece of s***".
It marked a return to Udine for Spalletti, who managed Udinese from July 2002 until the end of the 2004/2005 season, overseeing 122 matches and averaging 1.57 points per game. He guided the club to sixth and seventh-place finishes, then an exceptional fourth place and entry into the Champions League play-offs, also reaching the Coppa Italia semi-finals. Subsequently, Spalletti joined Roma’s project.
