Ukraine says it can supply 1,000 interceptor drones a day with investment
Ukraine says it can produce more anti-Shahed interceptor drones than it needs and could supply partners with 1,000 interceptors a day if it secures extra investment. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the UK Parliament that Ukraine can produce "at least 2,000 effective and combat-proven interceptors every day." His military needs around 1,000 a day, which means "we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies." The defense industry says output is constrained by funding.
Ihor Fedirko, the CEO of the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, said on Wednesday that Ukraine is able to make 2.5 times more interceptors than it can afford to buy, and that gap could double in a few months. Exports would generate cash to fund more production, but Kyiv controls sales to prioritize its own fight and is still working through steps to enable more exports.
