The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's comparison of Minnesota children to Anne Frank, People reported. Walz made the remarks near the end of a press conference on Sunday, Jan. 25, held after the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by federal officers.

Walz said, "We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank," and added, "Somebody's going to write that children's story about Minnesota."
