Usha Vance pregnant with fourth child, vice president’s wife
People reports Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have been married since 2014 and announced on Jan. 20 that Usha is pregnant with their fourth child, a boy due in July 2026. The couple are parents to three children: sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabel. They met as law students at Yale Law School; according to The New York Times, they organized a discussion group on the subject of "social decline in white America." Usha earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale and an MPhil in early modern history from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, served as an editor on Yale law journals, and participated in clinics including the Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic and the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project.
Usha worked as a litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson from 2015 to 2017, clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Judge Amul Thapar until 2018, and returned to Munger in January 2019; the firm later removed her profile after JD Vance’s nomination and said she was "an excellent lawyer and colleague." She told SFGATE she resigned "to focus on caring for our family" and was "forever grateful" for her opportunities.
