The U.S. Men’s National Team will be based in Irvine for the 2026 World Cup, selecting the Great Park as its official camp and training at the Great Park Championship Soccer Stadium, home of USL Championship side Orange County SC. The City of Irvine and U.S. Soccer announced the decision in a statement from Mayor Larry Agran.

The choice keeps the team close to its group-stage matches at SoFi Stadium: the U.S. opens the tournament against Paraguay at SoFi, roughly 45 miles northwest of Irvine, and after facing Australia and Seattle the team will return to Irvine ahead of its third group match, which will also be played at SoFi.

The opponent for that match will be determined by March's European playoffs. Built in 2017, the Great Park Championship Soccer Stadium seats 6,500 and is part of a 194-acre sports complex. "We are delighted to have Great Park as our training site for the 2026 FIFA World Cup," U.S.
