Members of the U.S. women’s national team have been busy since their SheBelieves Cup win, quickly returning to club competition. Alyssa Thompson lifted the League Cup with Chelsea, while Lindsey Heaps and Lily Yohannes helped OL Lyonnes capture the French Cup. Chelsea faced Manchester United in the League Cup final with Thompson dressing for The Blues.

Naomi Girma was ruled out with a calf injury and did not dress, and Cat Macario was not included in the squad; Chelsea were also without Millie Bright, Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter. Chelsea beat Manchester United and goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce 1-0 thanks to a Lauren James strike in the opening 20 minutes.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad and she can be available for the next game,” manager Sonia Bompastor said, with the Blues returning to action Wednesday. At Lyon, Heaps and Yohannes were key as OL Lyonnes defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Coupe de la Ligue.
