Val Kilmer's Felon Is Streaming Free on Tubi — Leaving Soon

Val Kilmer's 2008 crime thriller Felon is streaming for free on Tubi, but it won't be available for long. The film appears on Tubi's "Leaving Soon" page and is expected to move to another streamer by the end of March 2026. Writer-director Ric Roman Waugh cast Kilmer as John Smith opposite Stephen Dorff's Wade Porter.

Wade is jailed after killing a home intruder in self-defense and must learn the brutal realities of the American prison system if he wants to return to his family. Kilmer's John Smith becomes Wade's cellmate, teaching him prison life while concealing dark secrets.

The cast also includes Vincent Miller, Harold Perrineau, Marisol Nichols, and Sam Shepard. Felon received a limited theatrical release in 2008, grossing less than $1 million before going direct-to-DVD. Critics gave it a modest 60% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while audience scores sit at 82%.
