Valentina Allegra de Fontaine Connected to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Daredevil: Born Again season two ties the street-level story more directly to the wider MCU with a nod in the first episode to Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The series is already set to deepen its connections, with Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones confirmed to return alongside Royce Johnson's Detective Mahoney.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane said the team built Matthew Lillard's Mr. Charles as "somebody who lives in the Val world," and wanted to make that connection on screen. He added that, while he would personally love Val to be part of their world, "those choices aren't mine." Executive producer Sana Amanat described the mention as welcome "connective tissue," saying that, as fans, the creative team would like to see more of those links between stories.

Because Valentina Allegra de Fontaine remains a powerful government figure as director of the CIA, her ties to Mr. Charles could raise the stakes in New York, especially with the Kingpin on a warpath.
