Vicario admits Spurs could be dragged into relegation battle
Tottenham Hotspur slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday, leaving them looking over their shoulders with just six points separating them from the bottom three. Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes scored as Michael Carrick claimed his fourth win in as many games, and Spurs sit 14th after another poor Premier League outing.
Thomas Frank has come under intense scrutiny following a run of disappointing results, and many suggest his time in charge could be facing an early termination if performances do not improve. With Newcastle and Arsenal the next two opponents in the division, there is a real risk the club could slide further down the table.
Guglielmo Vicario did not rule out the threat of relegation, saying: “It depends how you see things in life. The reality is that in terms of results we have struggled a lot. Two wins in the last 16 is not acceptable for this football club, but we don't have to forget how we are trying to push ourselves in tough conditions.
