Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has been questioned about Nicolas Jackson’s future as speculation grows that the loanee could return to Chelsea at the end of the season. Jackson moved to the Bavarian side on a season-long loan that includes a buy option subject to him playing at least 45 minutes in 40 appearances, a threshold he looks unlikely to meet after featuring just 22 times this season.

It has been reported that Bayern do not plan to sign him permanently. After Saturday’s 3-2 Bundesliga win over Eintracht Frankfurt, Kompany said: "We enjoy having Nicolas Jackson with us. Any decision about the summer will be discussed with Nicolas himself and between the clubs.

I don't have an answer now. The only thing I know is that we're very happy to have him." Jackson did not feature in the game, which saw Harry Kane score a brace. If Jackson does return to Chelsea, his place in the squad is not assured.
