Vinnie Jones joins Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie on Viva La Madness
Movieweb reports that Jason Statham and director Guy Ritchie’s long‑awaited crime sequel Viva La Madness has added actor Vinnie Jones to the cast. Viva La Madness is described as a semi‑sequel to Daniel Craig’s Layer Cake, with Statham taking over as the anonymous hero; the film is being produced by Statham for Punch Palace Productions alongside Thomas Benski through Lumina Studios and Toff Guy Films, and is due to begin production in January 2026.
According to The Sun, the casting reunites Statham and Ritchie with Jones, and the outlet quoted a source saying, "Viva La Madness is writer J.J. Connolly’s sequel to Layer Cake but the film is going to be a standalone production. Guy is thrilled to be back at the helm. And to have Jason on board, as well as Vinnie, is going to make for cinematic gold." The report notes Jones previously played Big Chris in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and "Bullet Tooth" Tony in Snatch and recently appeared in the Guy Ritchie‑created Netflix series The Gentlemen.
The Sun says exact plot details are being kept under wraps but that the film is expected to closely follow J.J. Connolly’s novel and has been described as "brilliantly British," with a source adding, "This project feels so brilliantly British. It’s going to be loud, fast and unapologetically patriotic.
