I've visited Disney World in every season — winter is my favorite

With more than 20 trips to Walt Disney World, I've been there in every season and most months — a June work trip, a November family trip for our Disney wedding, a 5th birthday visit in May, and a runDisney ChEAR squad weekend in February. This year was my fourth winter visit in January/February, just my husband and me, and despite some very chilly days the trip confirmed it: winter is my favorite time to go, especially on a kid-free visit.

Cold weather changes how we move through the parks. Instead of avoiding midday heat, we spent mornings on indoor attractions and in queues, sought brisk afternoon air and sunshine around 11 a.m., and once the sun began to set (around 4:30/5 p.m.) took our time over meals at restaurants geared more toward adults, like Takumi-Tei at EPCOT.

Late January and early February often coincide with the start of the Disney College Program, so you meet enthusiastic new Cast Members wearing "Earning My Ears" ribbons.
