Volvo will end US sales of the EX30 and Cross Country
Volvo confirmed it will end U.S. sales of the EX30 and the EX30 Cross Country after the 2026 model year. The vehicles will remain in production for the U.S. through this summer and are expected to stay on dealer lots through the end of 2026. The compact crossover was launched as an affordable EV, pitched with a starting price under $35,000, but trade tensions and shifting tariffs complicated that promise.
A 2024 U.S. tariff on electric vehicles imported from China forced Volvo to move U.S.-bound production to Belgium, and earlier tariffs on imported vehicles further increased costs. The EX30’s base price rose to about $41,740 including destination; the Cross Country, which only began arriving at U.S.
dealerships this year, starts around $50,000. Volvo said the models will continue to be sold in other markets, including Canada and Mexico, and that its commitment to electrification remains unchanged. The company still aims for 90% to 100% of global sales to be electrified by 2030 and expects to add the EX60 to its U.S.
