Volvo unveils EX60 electric midsize SUV with up to 400-mile range
Volvo has unveiled the all-electric EX60 midsize SUV. The EX60 measures 189.1 inches (4,803 mm) long, 74.8 inches (1,900 mm) wide, 64.5 inches (1,638 mm) tall, with a 116.9-inch (2,969 mm) wheelbase. The EX60 will be offered in multiple all-wheel-drive powertrains. The P10 AWD uses an electric motor on each axle for a combined 503 hp (375 kW) and 524 lb-ft (710 Nm), and Volvo lists a 0–60 time of 4.4 seconds.
That version carries a larger battery (91 kWh net/95 kWh gross) and is rated at 320 miles of range on 20-inch wheels, with the same 10-mile range loss for each inch of larger wheels. Peak DC charging is up to 370 kW, with 10–80 percent charging taking about 18 minutes under ideal conditions, the company said.
The P12 AWD raises output to 670 hp (500 kW) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) and drops the 0–60 time to 3.8 seconds. Its battery is listed at 112 kWh usable (117 kWh gross); peak charging is said to remain 370 kW, with 10–80 percent taking about 19 minutes. Volvo gives range figures for that version of 400 miles on 20-inch wheels, 390 miles on 21-inch wheels, and 375 miles on 22-inch wheels.
The reveal also included an EX60 Cross Country variant, which Volvo described as having a 0.8-inch (20 mm) lifted suspension that can rise another 20 mm with optional air springs, a wider track, wheel-arch cladding, and underbody skid plates.
