More than 15 years after it was first announced, the PvP military shooter Warface: Clutch is closing. The publisher said in February it had "made the difficult decision to begin the sunset process," and the PC version will shut down on May 27.

Crytek first revealed the game in 2010 as Warface, targeting the South Korean market before deciding to bring it to the West. It made a good early impression, but its full release in 2014 stumbled.

A battle royale mode arrived a few years later, and in 2019 the development team split off to form Blackwood Games, which appears to have since ceased operating.

Another company eventually took over the franchise, and Warface continued under an updated name, drawing a small but steady audience for more than half a decade before being retired.
