Watching Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show from the Levi's Stadium stands
My fiancé and I went to Levi's Stadium for our first Super Bowl, telling my parents to text us before Bad Bunny started because they weren't watching the game. After a subdued matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, it was clear to many around us that the halftime show had become the event of the night.
Field crew rolled out carts with tall tufts of grass and performers dressed as grass walked by, a choice made after limits on how many carts could be brought onto the field. One cast member said his grass costume weighed 40 pounds and that he had spent two weeks rehearsing; he was paid $18.70 an hour.
Every seat had a light-up football necklace that automatically lit during the performance. Most of the staging, including La Casita, sat at the opposite end of the field from our seats, so we followed much of the show on a jumbotron—which sometimes cut to stock images and left fans puzzled.
