Wayne Rooney seen drinking with two women into early hours before Brit Awards

Wayne Rooney was spotted drinking until the early hours at a pre-Brit Awards party in Manchester, accompanied by two women. His wife, Coleen, was not present. The former England captain attended the event during a break in his punditry schedule. He has delayed a return to management after coaching stints at Birmingham and Plymouth and currently works as a pundit for BBC Sport and Amazon Prime Video.

The Rooneys have four children and eldest son Kai is in Manchester United's academy; Rooney remains the club's all-time leading goalscorer. Photos and video from a hotel bash show Rooney looking worse for wear. He was initially at the venue with pop star Calum Scott before being joined by a male friend and two female revellers.

An onlooker said: "People who noticed Wayne were saying, ‘What would Coleen think?’. She was nowhere to be seen." Another witness described him at about 1:30am: "Wayne couldn't seem to get his trousers done up.
