Wells Fargo files trademark for WFUSD crypto services platform
Wells Fargo has filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name 'WFUSD.' The application is awaiting assignment to an examining attorney and covers a wide range of cryptocurrency trading, payments and blockchain software services.
The filing lists services such as cryptocurrency trading, exchange services, cryptocurrency payment processing, financial brokerage for crypto trading and electronic transfers of virtual currencies, along with financial data feeds that provide price information to blockchain-based smart contracts.
It also seeks protection for downloadable software tools for staking digital assets, accessing non-fungible tokens, managing crypto wallets and executing digital asset trades. The application includes software-as-a-service platforms for tokenizing assets, verifying blockchain transactions, enabling staking operations, authentication services and blockchain-based data transmission tools for decentralized applications.
