Wes Brown has defended Roy Keane after former Manchester United physio Rod Thornley said he had witnessed Keane "bully people many times." Thornley’s comments followed Keane’s own criticism of non-playing staff, in which Keane labelled some backroom members "scavengers" and "cocky," accusing them of acting like players and trying to profit from squad members.

Brown, who won eight major trophies alongside Keane, acknowledged the former captain’s abrasive manner but argued it comes from character rather than malice. "He is not a bully. That’s Roy Keane. Simple as that. He says it how it is," Brown said, adding that Keane "says horrible things about me as well" but insisting "Keano is Keano.

He’s still my captain." The exchange has renewed debate over how former figures are remembered.
