'What Happens at Night': First Look at Leonardo DiCaprio's Transformation
Leonardo DiCaprio has shed his usual leading-man look for his next role, reuniting with Jennifer Lawrence under Martin Scorsese for What Happens at Night. The film adapts Peter Cameron's 2020 novel and marks DiCaprio's seventh collaboration with Scorsese. Filming began in late February in Prague.
Leaked set photos show DiCaprio with a thick mustache, dark-rimmed glasses and what appears to be a prosthetic belly as he adopts a travel-worn appearance to play the film's central character opposite Lawrence, who portrays his onscreen wife. The story follows an unnamed American couple who travel to a strange, snowy European city to adopt a baby in hopes of saving their struggling marriage.
The wife is weakened by cancer, and the couple checks into the cavernous Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, where an enigmatic cast of characters complicates their attempts to claim the child and forces deep introspection. Also attached to the cast are Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris.
