What I buy at Costco for two people to save money — Businessinsider

I've been a Costco shopper for as long as I can remember. As a kid I often went there with my parents on weekends to buy bulk food, books, clothing, and Barbie dolls — and enjoy a $1.50 hot dog and soda. Now I shop for a household of two, and these are the 10 items that always make it into my cart.

Paper goods are a must: I buy Kirkland Signature toilet paper and paper towels because they feel like a better deal than my local supermarket, and I recently paid $25 for 30 rolls. We’re picky about toilet paper because of stomach issues, but I find the Kirkland version comparable to Angel Soft.

Eggs are another staple — I buy the 24-count of large white eggs for $4.83 for breakfasts, snacks, and baking. I also stock up on cleaning supplies. The warehouse carries a range of laundry detergents, and I pick Tide Free and Gentle Pods. Dishwasher detergent comes in liquid and pod forms; on this trip I grabbed Cascade Complete pods on sale for $14.
