Bad Bunny turned Levi’s Stadium into the streets of Puerto Rico during his Super Bowl 2026 halftime performance, opening with “Tití Me Preguntó” and bringing out stars including Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. He wore a custom white Zara football jersey emblazoned with Ocasio and the number 64; Ocasio is his family name, while the numeral proved harder to pin down.

Fans offered several theories: a tribute to his mother’s birth year; a reference to the initial, now corrected, death toll of 64 from 2017’s Hurricane Maria; or a nod to the 64th United States Congress, which passed the Jones-Shafroth Act granting statutory citizenship to Puerto Ricans in 1917.

Another, and perhaps most likely, explanation ties the number to his impact on music. In 2023 his album Un Verano Sin Ti became the first Spanish-language record nominated for album of the year at the 64th Grammys, and at the 2026 Grammys he won three awards, including album of the year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos — the first Spanish-language album to take that prize.
