Where to find keys in Crimson Desert
Keys let you steal valuables and open safes such as the Hernand Castle Strongbox, which sits behind a locked door. The game uses a generic key item: any key will open most locks, though named quest doors remain exempt. At the start of the game you can buy three keys from the Back Alley Shop in Hernand — head east out of Hernand, pass the model castle on the left, then take a left down the track to find the vendor.
These keys are periodically restocked. You can also loot keys randomly from dead bandits. You can steal a key in the Church of Hernand by turning right down the corridor and looking to your right on top of a cabinet. Another key is in Oakenshield Manor in Hernand: enter through the main doors, go right into the room with the staircase and check the cabinet straight ahead.
Theft requires a mask, which can also be bought from the Back Alley Shop. There’s a Back Alley Shop south of St.
