Where to use the Maintenance Pump key in Marathon

The Maintenance Pump key opens a locked door somewhere in Maintenance on Dire Marsh, but the exact spot can be easy to miss amid the area’s size. It promises decent loot, yet players can spend a long time wandering the hangar before finding the entry. Maintenance sits southeast of Quarantine and is quite large, often populated by UESC enemies, so clear hostiles when you arrive.

The door is actually in the middle of the main hangar: a small red building with exterior stairs, beside a docked truck‑like vehicle in a loading bay. Look for a lime green wall marking the doorway — it’s in plain sight even if it doesn’t stand out while you explore.

Using the Maintenance Pump key opens a room containing six or seven caches filled with weapons, equipment and consumables. Be cautious while looting, since the area can be dangerous and you risk being killed while searching the containers. Keys drop fairly randomly, and one was found in a supply drop, which can draw attention because of the noise and the time it takes to call in.
