The outlet notes a new Best Casting category this year and says the Academy has tightened voting rules, requiring members to provide proof they watched every film in a category.

Several nominees are already available to stream or buy: Sinners streams on HBO Max and is also available via Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+ and Starz with an HBO Max bundle, and can be rented or bought on multiple platforms or purchased on DVD/Blu-ray. Bugonia streams on Peacock and is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Flix Fling and Fandango and on disc; F1 streams on Apple TV and can be bought or rented on other services; Frankenstein streams on Netflix (including Standard with Ads) and is available on Blu-ray; Train Dreams is available on Netflix.

Other nominees remain primarily theatrical for now: Hamnet continues to play in U.S.
