Which MLB Teams Are in the National League?
On March 26, Sunday Night Baseball makes its debut on MLB Opening Day, with coverage continuing through the regular season. The National League was founded in 1876, making it the older of baseball's two major leagues and the oldest professional sports league still operating.
It weathered many competing leagues in its early decades; the American League emerged as the only rival to reach equal status. The two leagues reached an agreement in 1903 to share professional baseball and did not officially merge into a single organization until 2000.
The National League includes 15 teams across the continental United States. Its teams have won a combined 53 of the 121 World Series, including the 2025 and 2024 titles, both won by the Los Angeles Dodgers. NL East: Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals.
