With the Blind Auditions finished and the teams full, The Voice moves into the Battles. Teammates will pair up and duet the same song in a head-to-head contest that leaves only one Artist standing; a Coach can steal an eliminated Artist, and Kelly Clarkson holds a "Super Steal" after winning the Triple Turn Competition.

Country Artists proved especially sought after during the Blind Auditions, and many ended up on Clarkson's team in the absence of coaches like Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire. Backstage, Clarkson told Legend and Levine, 'Since I’m crushing it, and I knew I would, I got y’all something,' before showing them, 'It’s The Voice: Battle of Champions Country Music Coaching for Dum-Dums.

You’re welcome!' Adam Levine staked a claim on country talent as well, declaring 'today is the day' he would get a country singer and calling himself 'Admiral Country' while recruiting Hunter Jordan. John Legend landed Arlington native Kendra Remedios and praised 'the crackle' and 'that Texas grit' in her voice.
