Why Adam Levine’s Arm Tattoos Look Different
Adam Levine has added body art across his chest, stomach, back, neck, arms, legs and hands for much of his adult life, making it hard to picture him without ink. In 2013 on The Oprah Winfrey Show he said some of his tattoos mean something and some do not, noting ones for his mom, his lucky number and the first guitar he bought in Tijuana, and adding that on the road you get bored and you just do it.
On Season 29 of The Voice: Battle of Champions his left arm now shows a 'blastover' sleeve — tattooing applied directly on top of an earlier image without removing the original — rather than a traditional cover-up. His tattoo artist Scott Campbell posted a video captioned 'Spotted in the wild, blastover sleeve I did on the man himself @adamlevine.' Levine joked to TODAY that he covered up one sleeve with another and called it psychotic.
