Why Bethenny Frankel refuses to join 'Golden Life' Housewives show
Bethenny Frankel says she is "protecting [her] peace" by staying off E!'s Real Housewives of New York City reboot, Golden Life. She told her Instagram followers that joining the series would not "be good for business," noting it used to help when promoting her own ventures but now she works with many brands and equity partners who "don't look highly upon that genre" and see it as "in the rearview." Frankel added that the other cast members — Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer — would likely resent her return.
She argued the amount of money it would take, "that E! could presumably never pay," would fuel that resentment, which "did happen before," and said she wants the women to "thrive" and for the show to do well. Calling the project a "savage, amazing move by E!," Frankel said her final reason for staying away is that she likes her life now.
