Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, was originally meant to be linked to his hit Yellowstone, but series director and executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros says that is no longer the case. “I do not endeavor to be able to navigate the decision making process in Taylor’s brain,” she said, adding that “it is very clear to me now that it is very much its own unique tone in the storytelling of Taylor’s universe.” Voros directed all six episodes and has been a frequent Sheridan collaborator with an Emmy nomination.

Now streaming on Paramount+, The Madison follows the wealthy Clyburn family — Stacy (Pfeiffer), her husband Preston (Russell) and their adult daughters Abigail (Beau Garrett) and Paige (Elle Chapman) — as they grieve Preston’s sudden death in a plane crash. Although Russell’s character is killed off in the first episode, he appears throughout the series in flashbacks.

Voros spoke warmly of her leads.
