The Exhibition Gala at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan closed the figure skating competition with a playful turn: Sub‑Zero, Deadpool and Kung Fu Panda took the ice together. Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Shaidorov won the men’s gold this year, the first from his country to do so, and became the first Olympic figure skater to best the Lin Kuei.

For the gala, Shaidorov appeared dressed as Jack Black’s famed DreamWorks cartoon martial artist and skated to Carl Douglas’s “Kung Fu Fighting.” He did some friendly sparring with Deadpool and Sub‑Zero before a fart sound effect echoed through the arena. Other exhibition bits leaned into pop culture.

Pairs skated to “Cotton Eyed Joe” and “Macarena,” while Georgia’s Luka Berulava, dressed as Sub‑Zero, and Anastasiia Metelkina, as Kitana, performed to The Immortals’ Mortal Kombat theme and finished in the dazed stance associated with the game.
