Witcher Online mod lets players join servers and play The Witcher 3 together

Polygon reports a new mod called Witcher Online, created by rejuvenate, that turns The Witcher 3 into an online multiplayer experience by letting players join servers and play together.

Everyone appears as Geralt by default, but the mod supports the Custom Player Characters mod so players can edit and show off distinct looks, and it supports the Chill Out mod for relaxing together in taverns. The mod includes chat and emotes; "The focus of this mod is to allow you to see other players on their adventure exploring throughout the world," rejuvenate says.

It's possible to play through The Witcher 3's full storyline with the Witcher Online mod and to combat monsters cooperatively with other players. The mod arrives amid reports that CD Projekt Red may release a surprise third expansion this year to set up its sequel, and offers a new way to revisit the game 11 years on from its release.
