Wolves share racist abuse aimed at Tolu Arokodare after Palace defeat
Wolves shared appalling racist messages aimed at striker Tolu Arokodare online after their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. Arokodare, who missed a penalty, played the full 90 minutes and after the final whistle went to the travelling supporters and held up his hands in apology.
The club posted screenshots of the abuse and issued a furious statement. It said there is no place for racism, that Tolu has the club’s full and unwavering support, and that the posts have been reported to the relevant platforms. Wolves added they will work with the Premier League and the authorities to identify those responsible and will continue a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination.
Arokodare also condemned the messages, writing that it is “still unbelievable” people can communicate such racism without consequences and that those individuals should have no place in the game.
