Independent.co reported that the 37-year-old woman fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis has been identified as Renee Nicole Good, her mother confirmed on Wednesday. The shooting occurred Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis as federal agents were conducting an immigration enforcement operation.

Dozens of demonstrators later gathered at the scene. Video of the incident shows the woman inside her vehicle, blocking ICE agents; officials surrounded the car and told her to exit, and when she began to move the vehicle away slowly an agent near the front fired through the windshield.

President Donald Trump defended the ICE agent in a Truth Social post, writing: “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.” Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the shooting and asked Americans to “stand with us,” while Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey pushed back on the administration’s description and told ICE agents to “get the f*** out” of the city.
