World of Warcraft fans question steep prices for new housing décor
After the Midnight release introduced World of Warcraft's new housing system, some optional in-game décor has drawn sharp criticism for its cost. Players pointed out pricey individual items and packs in the in-game store shortly after the update went live.
For context, 100 Hearthsteel equals $1, which made a decor pack cost $25, while a single Spring Blossom Tree initially sold for $7.50. Community posts called the items “a bit pricey,” with one player bluntly asking, “What the f*** are these prices?”
Blizzard removed the items amid the complaints and later relisted them at reduced prices — the Spring Blossom Tree is now $2.50. Even so, many players describe the adjustments as a small “nerf” and still consider the décor “comically overpriced,” with some hoping future releases better reflect player feedback.
