Worrying truth behind Demi Moore's Oscars dress

Demi Moore’s black-and-green Gucci gown at the Oscars featured feathers that climbed from the bodice toward her chin, drawing attention away from the clavicle and parts of her biceps and shoulder bones. A New York City–based celebrity stylist suggested the high-drama neckline and iridescent mermaid silhouette may have been intended to avoid further scrutiny after fans reacted to her lean appearance at the Actor Awards.

Stylist Amanda Saunders said the Gucci dress “hid more of her body” and called it a “very wow fashion moment.” She noted the color, texture and feather height create visual distraction while still showing Moore’s figure, and added that wearing her hair down softened the look compared with the pulled-back style at the Actor Awards.

Moore’s appearance comes amid a parade of extra-lean celebrities this awards season.
