Wrexham's hopes of reaching the Premier League suffered a setback after the club confirmed midfielder Ben Sheaf has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury. Sheaf went down during Saturday's 5-3 win over Ipswich and was forced off early in the second half, a result that moved Phil Parkinson's side back into the Championship play-off places.

Parkinson described the news as "a real blow for us." He said the initial prognosis is about ten weeks after Sheaf damaged his medial ligament in what was judged to be a blocked tackle that opened up the knee, and the player was due to see a specialist in London.
