'Wuthering Heights' Holds Off New Releases in Slow Box Office Weekend
Emerald Fennel's Wuthering Heights reclaimed the top spot on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, drawing $4.6 million domestically. The film posted a 56% drop from the previous Friday but is projected to finish the weekend with about $14.2 million, bringing its two-week domestic total to $60 million.
Sony Animation's GOAT sat at number two with $3.8 million on Friday and is estimated to land between $13 million and $14 million for the weekend. Estimates put GOAT's cumulative gross at roughly $53–$54 million by the end of the frame, leaving it within striking distance of Wuthering Heights.
Among new releases, Lionsgate's faith-based I Can Only Imagine 2 opened with $3.75 million on its first day and is expected to finish the weekend around $8–$9 million, well below the original film's $17 million opening in 2018 and far shy of its $83 million domestic run.
