Wyatt Russell: Monarch Prequel Will Shoot This Summer

Wyatt Russell says the prequel to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will begin shooting this summer and that he has already read the scripts. The series, greenlit on November 27, 2025, will see Russell return as a young Lee Shaw; a premiere date has not been announced.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters first arrived on Apple TV+ on November 17, 2023, following the events of 2014’s Godzilla. Its sophomore season premiered on February 27, 2026, and runs through May, and the show’s momentum helped spur the spin-off. Russell called pre-production “still early days,” but said he’s “over-the-moon excited about it.
