XBrew Lab debuted its countertop nitro beverage machine, EverNitro, at CES this week, offering nitro coffee enthusiasts a way to make the drink at home without the waste and expense of traditional cartridge-based systems. Nitro coffee is cold brew coffee infused with nitrogen gas, a process that creates tiny bubbles and a silky-smooth, naturally sweeter taste similar to Guinness; many people also note it is less bitter.

XBrew Lab is positioning EverNitro against competitors such as NitroBrew as a long-term, more affordable all-in-one solution. "We offer the quality of a commercial tap with the footprint of a coffee maker. While others sell you gas, we give you technology to harvest it for free," founder and CEO Terry Tan said.

The company says EverNitro delivers 95% nitrogen purity and can generate nitrogen directly from the surrounding air, eliminating single-use cartridges. After testing it ourselves, we were pleasantly surprised: the machine is simple to use, fits on a counter or stores on a shelf, and its canister can hold coffee, cocktails or other beverages.

Users can select pressure from 0 to 8 BAR, the process takes minutes, and a companion app provides updates. The device launched on Kickstarter in October and raised over $570,000.
