XTAR-Link MP158 runs Starlink Mini for up to eight hours
The XTAR-Link MP158 is a 158Wh power bank built specifically to run a Starlink Mini dish. It offers a 100W max input/output USB-C port, an 18W USB-A port and a DC5521 port that can supply the 15–21V at 5A the Mini needs. Rubber covers protect the ports and a simple LED display shows remaining capacity.
At 7.5 × 3.8 × 2.2 inches and 2.2 pounds the MP158 is fairly chunky and won’t fit in a pocket. Batteries larger than 100Wh require airline permission for commercial flights. The unit is intentionally simple: there’s no power button, devices wake it when plugged in, and it enters sleep after about 20 seconds of inactivity.
The MP158 supports a wide range of USB-C protocols, including Power Delivery 2.0/3.0/3.1, AFC and SCP, while the USB-A port handles QuickCharge 2.0/3.0, AFC and SCP. It can power a Starlink Mini via the DC port while running the USB outlets, supports pass-through charging, and recharges in roughly 2.3 hours with a 100W USB-C charger.
