Yan Diomande denies Liverpool are his 'dream club', addresses Bayern links
Yan Diomande has pushed back on claims that Liverpool are his "dream club", with the RB Leipzig winger linked to the Reds and Bayern Munich. The 19-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting wide prospects and played the full 90 minutes of Leipzig’s DFB-Pokal loss to Bayern at the weekend.
Speaking to BILD, Diomande said: "People made it out to be my dream club. But first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favourite club. It was always his great wish to see me there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield. ... I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig." Asked about Bayern, he added: "It’s always nice to hear something like that.
But I haven’t spoken to anyone from Bayern. It’s not the right time for that. I’m happy here in Leipzig and want to remain fully focused." Leipzig had been demanding in excess of £100m for the youngster after a stunning start to life at the club.
