Independent.co reports that Colombian singer Yeison Jiménez was among six people killed when a private aircraft crashed in central-eastern Colombia on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Yeison Orlando Jiménez Galeano, Captain Hernando Torres, and passengers Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Óscar Marín, Jefferson Osorio and Weisman Mora. The plane, registered N325FA, crashed in the Paipa and Duitama area of the Boyacá department while travelling to Medellín; reports say it went down just after take-off and became engulfed in flames. Videos circulating on local media include shouts of “the runway is run out.” The Sun reported the 34-year-old had posted on social media before boarding: “Always humble, because what God gives you he can also take away.”

The Civil Aviation Authority said its Technical Directorate for Accident Investigation has begun collecting evidence and Transportation Minister Fernanda Rojas said an investigation has started. The Boyacá governor's office declared a period of mourning, and fans and fellow artists have posted tributes, including música popular performer Andrés García, who praised Jiménez’s legacy and humility. Further details are expected as the probe continues.
