Apple is expanding US manufacturing by producing some Mac Mini computers in Houston, with production starting later this year. Mac Mini units will be made at a new factory on Apple's existing Houston site to help fulfill US orders. The company will also expand advanced AI server manufacturing at the Houston factory, an effort it expects will create thousands of jobs.

This aligns with Apple's pledge to invest $600 billion in US facilities and create 20,000 jobs over the next four years. The Mac Mini has drawn renewed interest as people seek to run OpenClaw, an open-source autonomous AI agent. The computer is currently produced in Asia, with many models listed as Vietnam-made, and overseas production will continue.

Apple is building a 20,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing center in Houston to provide hands-on training to students, supplier employees, and American businesses.
