Zack Snyder’s Four-Hour Justice League Still Dominates Streaming
Zack Snyder’s career began in the mid-2000s with Dawn of the Dead, his directorial debut starring Ving Rhames, and continued with the period epic 300 featuring Gerard Butler. He followed that with 2009’s Watchmen, which remains highly regarded in superhero and sci‑fi circles and for which fans still hope a sequel will arrive.
In 2013 Snyder reunited with Henry Cavill for Man of Steel, which also featured Russell Crowe and Amy Adams. After that film he was given broader creative control over DC stories and directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, introducing Ben Affleck as a darker Batman and drawing intense controversy.
Snyder began work on Justice League but left production after the tragic suicide of his 20-year-old daughter; Joss Whedon completed the original theatrical cut. A grassroots campaign to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut gained enough momentum that Warner Bros. later allowed Snyder to issue his own version of the film.
